Ethical reflection of social worker's work with carers of children with disabilities
NĚMCOVÁ, Nicol
The thesis entitled Ethical reflection of social worker's work with carers of children with disabilities looks into the mutual cooperation and interaction of both persons when working to help a child with disabilities in social services. A carer is usually a parent or other legal guardian who cares for and looks after a person with a disability or disadvantage. From my experience as a social worker, working with caring persons is sometimes challenging and I would therefore like to map the attitudes of both persons through interviews in which I will identify their needs either for themselves, towards the organisation or towards the person they are working with. I would like to find out specific things, how to help the carers more, how to understand them and how to set up together the best possible functioning of the child in the social service.
Relationship between posttraumatic growth and coping processes of healthy siblings of children with disabilities
Soukupová, Marie ; Presslerová, Pavla (advisor) ; Kucharská, Anna (referee)
This thesis is focused on the current concept of coping with stressful situations and the concept of posttraumatic growth of healthy siblings of disabled children. The first part of this thesis deals with stressful situations throughout the life of healthy sibling. The work describes the ways of coping with difficult life situations as well as coping strategies oriented to the future (proactive coping). It also focuses on the positive effects of this experience within the concept of posttraumatic growth. The empirical part presents the data obtained from nine respondents. There were used these methods: interview, narrative inspired by life-story, questionnaire PTGI-CZ and PCI questionnaire. The data were elaborated by means of qualitative and quantitative methods. The aim of the thesis was to identify the coping strategies used by siblings and identify potential posttraumatic growth. The most considerable development was reflected in the areas of "appreciation of life" and "personal growth". The most helpful coping strategies were considered to be positive thinking and positive reappraisal of a situation. We believe that these research findings might be helpful in counselling for siblings or in the area of psychotherapy.

Comprehensive rehabilitation of children attending primary school and kindergarten in Motýlek Koprivnice, p.o.
MÜLLEROVÁ, Tereza
The aim of the theoretical part of this thesis is to describe the comprehensive system of rehabilitation for persons with disabilities. Individual sections are devoted to medical, educational, social and professional means of a comprehensive rehabilitation with regard to the importance of their interconnections. I also focus on the issue of families with disabled children and their needs at different life stages. In this context, I give an account of possibilities of the educational process for children with disabilities from early childhood until adulthood. In our region ? in Kopřivnice and surroundings, there is currently no facility providing complex care to children with disabilities in terms of comprehensive rehabilitation. Individual components of a comprehensive rehabilitation system are provided by various subjects - medical facilities, schools and school counseling facilities, social service providers. The aim of my research thesis was to survey the offer of facilities for children with disabilities and their families and to determine whether the offer meets the needs of parents of children with disabilities who attend the primary school or kindergarten Motýlek Kopřivnice, p.o. To meet the goals I chose a qualitative research methodology, using the secondary data analysis technique, and an interview method, when the technique used was a semi-structured interview. The interview was conducted with 8 respondents - parents of children with disabilities who attend the primary school and kindergarten Motýlek Kopřivnice, p.o. The results of the research show that in and around Kopřivnice parents of these children have the possibility to make use of existing facilities for the comprehensive rehabilitation. At present, however, there is a lack of medical rehabilitation, which used to be provided to children directly at school, as well as the possibility of extra-curricular activities for children and personal assistance services. This bachelor thesis may be used in practice as a background material for planning the comprehensive service development for children and adults with disabilities in and around Kopřivnice.
